1
Prepare the ingredients: Slice the kielbasa into 1/2-inch rounds. Core and thinly slice the green cabbage.
-
2
Sear the kielbasa: Heat olive oil in a large (12-inch) heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat. Add kielbasa slices in a single layer (work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding). Sear for 4-5 minutes per side until deeply golden brown and slightly crispy. Remove kielbasa to a plate and set aside.
-
3
Cook the cabbage: Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the same skillet, letting it melt. Add the thinly sliced cabbage, salt, and pepper. Sauté, stirring occasionally, for 8-10 minutes, or until the cabbage has softened and wilted down but still retains a slight bite.
-
4
Combine and finish: Return the seared kielbasa to the skillet with the cabbage. Pour in the apple cider vinegar. Stir well to combine, ensuring the vinegar coats everything. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to warm through and allow the flavors to meld. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
-
5
Serve hot: Serve immediately as a complete meal or with your favorite side.
💡 Notes
For a bit of heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the cabbage. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat gently in a skillet or microwave.
