👩🍳 Instructions
-
1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides, and lightly grease the exposed sides.
-
2
In a large, microwave-safe bowl (or a double boiler), combine the chopped chocolate, melted butter, and vegetable oil. Heat in 30-second intervals in the microwave, stirring well after each, until smooth and completely melted. Let cool slightly for 5 minutes.
-
3
To the slightly cooled chocolate mixture, whisk in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.
-
4
Add the eggs one at a time, whisking vigorously after each addition until fully incorporated and the mixture is glossy.
-
5
Stir in the vanilla extract.
-
6
In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt.
-
7
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Fold them in gently with a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.
-
8
If using, fold in the optional chocolate chips or nuts.
-
9
Pour the brownie batter evenly into your prepared pan and spread it into the corners.
-
10
Bake for 28-32 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly wobbly. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with moist crumbs, not wet batter.
-
11
Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting out and slicing. This is crucial for a fudgy texture and clean cuts.
💡 Notes
For the best fudgy results, do not overbake! A slightly underbaked brownie is a perfect fudgy brownie. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
